Mindful Library Workshop ― Kamakura マインドフルネス、場所、そして生きた知識が交わる、2日間の共創体験

A two-day co-creation experience where mindfulness, place, and living knowledge intersect

ポルトガル生まれ。リスボン大学で環境生物学を学び、自然資源管理の修士号を取得。環境修復研究からパーマカルチャーへ転身し、「ネットワーク・ウィービング」の実践者となる——自然界のネットワーク原理を人間関係に応用する手法。SIPAネットワークのメンバー。南アフリカにおける5万人規模の雇用創出プロジェクトや熊野の伝統家屋修復事業など国際的に活動。一般社団法人熊野神道元理事。Zen2.0やマインドフルシティ鎌倉の理念に深く共感し、鎌倉との強い絆を維持。 Born in Portugal. Studied environmental biology at the University of Lisbon and earned a master's degree in natural resource management. Transitioned from environmental restoration research to permaculture, becoming a practitioner of “network weaving”—applying the network principles of nature to human connections. Member of the SIPA Network. Internationally active in projects like a 50,000-person employment initiative in South Africa and the restoration of traditional houses in Kumano. Former director of the General Incorporated Association Kumano Shindo. Deeply resonates with the philosophies of Zen 2.0 and Mindful City Kamakura, maintaining strong ties with Kamakura.

ある場所を真に知るとはどういうことでしょうか？

What does it mean to truly know a place?

この2日間の実践的なワークショップでは、鎌倉の風景、神聖な空間、静かな知恵など、鎌倉との関わりを再認識し、その理解を、生き生きとした双方向のインスタレーション「マインドフル・ライブラリー」に織り込んでいきます。

In this two-day hands-on workshop, we will reconnect with Kamakura through its landscapes, sacred spaces, and quiet wisdom, weaving this understanding into a vibrant, interactive installation: the “Mindful Library.”

ネイチャー・ワンダー・ビューローが鎌倉にもたらしたこの「生きた図書館」は、本のコレクションではありません。参加者の方々が手作りする招待状の集まりであり、それぞれが未来の訪問者をこの街ならではの気づきの体験へと導きます。隠れた小道、静寂の瞬間、瞑想、森から紡がれた詩などです。

This “living library,” brought to Kamakura by Nature Wonder Bureau, is not a collection of books. It is a gathering of handmade invitations created by participants, each guiding future visitors to unique experiences of awareness specific to this city—hidden paths, moments of stillness, meditation, poems spun from the forest.

完成したライブラリーのインスタレーションは、フィランソロピー・ライブラリーの庭園に設置されます。そこを通りかかる方々が発見し、これから数ヶ月にわたり、静かに鎌倉の驚異へと導かれることでしょう。

The completed library installation will be placed in the garden of the Philanthropy Library. Passersby will discover it and be quietly guided to Kamakura's wonders over the coming months.

1日目 — 没入と創造  Kamakura Philosophy Library及び鎌倉周辺

まずはこの地の精神に身を委ねることから始めます。ガイド付き体験（散策、瞑想、対話）を通じて、参加者は新たな視点で鎌倉との繋がりを再発見します。一日を締めくくるのは、図書館インスタレーションを形にするための集団ブレインストーミングと制作セッションです。 Day 1 — Immersion and Creation

Philanthropy Library and Kamakura Area

We begin by immersing ourselves in the spirit of this place. Through guided experiences (walks, meditation, dialogue), participants rediscover their connection to Kamakura from a new perspective. The day concludes with a group brainstorming and production session to shape the library installation.

2日目 — 散策と対話 （任意参加） 鎌倉・絹原山トレイル

旅を続けたい方のために、2日目は対話を丘へと誘います。Kamakura Philosophy Libraryの真後ろに聳える絹原山を共にハイキングし、前日の体験と周囲の風景に触発された自由な対話を途中で交わします。

予定も、パフォーマンスもありません。ただ歩き、語り、互いの声と山の声に耳を傾ける時間です。 Day 2 — Stroll and Dialogue (Optional Participation) Kamakura・Kinuayama Trail

For those wishing to continue the journey, Day 2 invites dialogue to the hills. We will hike together up Kinuayama, towering directly behind the Philanthropy Library, engaging in free-flowing conversation inspired by the previous day's experiences and the surrounding scenery.

There is no schedule, no performance. It is simply time to walk, talk, and listen to each other's voices and the voice of the mountain.

リビング・ライブラリー

ワークショップ終了後も、このインスタレーションはフィランソロピー図書館の庭園に約2～3ヶ月間設置されます。通行人の皆様にも開放され、皆様が込めた想いが息づく空間となります。再生・修復された素材で構築されたこの作品は、この場所と、偶然出会う方々への贈り物です。 Living Library

After the workshop concludes, this installation will remain in the Philanthropy Library garden for approximately 2–3 months. It will be open to passersby, becoming a space where the sentiments you have poured into it will live on. Constructed from recycled and restored materials, this work is a gift to this place and to those who happen upon it.

自然の驚異局はこれまで、熊野古道、リスボン自然史博物館、オーストリアのコモンズハブにて「生きた図書館」を創出してまいりました。次は鎌倉です。 The Natural Wonders Bureau has previously created “Living Libraries” along the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, at the Lisbon Natural History Museum, and at Commons Hub in Austria. Next is Kamakura.

会場について ― 鎌倉フィランソロピー図書館

フィランソロピー・ライブラリーは、静かな思索とコミュニティの場を創りたいという所有者の個人的なビジョンから生まれた、鎌倉に現在建設中の新しい私設図書館です。一般公開はまだ開始しておりませんが、その庭園が本ワークショップの会場およびインスタレーション設置場所となります。これは同館が世界に向けて初めて開かれる活動のひとつです。

スペースには限りがあります。歩き、思いめぐらし、美しいものを作る準備をしてご参加ください。 About the Venue ―Kamakura Philanthropy Library

The Philanthropy Library is a new private library currently under construction in Kamakura, born from the owner's personal vision to create a space for quiet contemplation and community. While not yet open to the public, its garden will serve as the venue for this workshop and the installation site. This marks one of the library's first activities opening to the world.

Space is limited. Please come prepared to walk, reflect, and create something beautiful.
